SiteOrigin CSS not responsive

Hello,
I have just installed the SiteOrigin CSS plugin and was excited at the possibility of modifying my page elements. I opened the CSS editor to select sections of the page that I will like to modify, unfortunaely every section selected on all my pages never displayed the properties on the box below the css editor. In short the CSS editor/page have not been responsive. I activated the plugin already and don’t know why the selected section of my page will not display.

Is there anything I am doing wrong? I have tried to disable all plugins, but that didn’t help. Could it be that the theme I am using may be the problem?

    Hi Thisweb

Thanks for reaching out. Which theme are you working with?

Thanks Andrew for your response. The nane of the theme I am using it with is called Nimva theme.

Thanks for the update. First, try testing SiteOrigin CSS with all other plugins temporarily de-activated at once. If there is no change the try temporarily switching over to a default WordPress theme like Twenty Fifteen. These tests should let you know where the challenge lies.

Ok, I will do that and let you know how it goes.
    Thanks Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

I just deactivated all my plugins and tried again, but still couldn't get the css editor to select any part of my pages

When I select a section on the page, the properties does not show at the bottom of the pane as shown in your tutorial on how to use the software.

I have disabled the theme but the pages couldn't be displayed after that,
hence I had to re-enable the theme to show the issue in the above screen shots.

    Hi Thisweb

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi,
I had to go watch the tutorial video over and over again. At 1:19 into the tutorial, it says "Clicking on the element will select it in the inspector". Whenever I select any element on any of my page, the element doesn't show any property details in the Inspector section. Is there anything I need to do to get this behavior?

There is, unfortunately, a JavaScript conflict with the theme you’re using. Switching over to Twenty Fifteen resolves the challenge.

  13. Thisweb 10 years, 5 months ago

So you think, the theme is the issue? Although that's the theme of choice for me, I will attempt a switch. But can that JavaScript conflict be resolved if I work with the theme vendor? Most of my sites were built with the Nimva theme and I even see an incredible leverage with the Siteorigin css plugin.

It is, unfortunately. Do a super quick switch to Twenty Fifteen. You’ll be able to confirm.

If the theme author could take a look, that would be awesome.

If you send us a copy of the theme to Private Snippet we can try get an error report on where the problem is arising.

Ok, I will reach out to the theme vendor. They are pretty responsive, so I will give them a shout. SiteOrigin for me is here to stay in my tools chest. I may send a copy of the theme too or your can download a trial at rockythemes.com
    Thanks a lot..

Ok super, please, let me know how it goes with Rocky Themes. We’ll take it from there. Thanks.
