Shortcode in post query builder

10 years ago · Last reply by Greg Priday 10 years ago

Hello,
First of all, thank you for the great Vantage theme and Page Builder.

I would like to allow readers to be able to filter posts, based on tags. For example ‘East coast’, ‘West coast’. My intention is that the site will store their selection and apply it to different elements on different pages, so simply entering the tag in the “Build Posts Query” of the “Post loop” widget is not sufficient.
Is there any way to do this with shortcodes? I have created a shortcode, which returns the chosen tag. I can display this in a text widget, but the shortcode is not being used by the query builder in the post loop widget.

If not, I would appreciate any suggestions for a different approach.

    Hi Richard

Unfortunately this functionality isn’t currently available in Page Builder. The only solutions I can think of at the moment would require a fair amount of custom coding. I’ve marked this thread as a feature request for now, we often look through these threads for new ideas on what to add to our plugins.

Thank you for the quick response anyway. I guess I’ll be spending more time with PHP.
