I found your plugin by using it in another theme and I installed on another site of mine. When I go to edit the page with page builder and copy the data over it works fine. Then when I save and go back to edit again it defaults back to the regular editor and each time I have to re-import the data. How do you make page builder columns and layouts remain on a save?
Hi Chris
I think I’m following what’s happening. Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:
[email protected]
Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.
Just let me know which page you’re trying to convert o Page Builder.
This is a private message.
Sent…there is only one page on this site it’s a basic site I wanted to test. I was not sure if I needed to “enable” the theme(s) to use the plugin which it why I was curious why it would not keep the page builder layouts or if I needed to set an option to make that the default or something
BTW I think this plugin is great if it works on it’s own :). I did see some themes are coded to use it like the one I purchased, but I assumed it was also usable with any theme.
Received. I'm just finishing off the last part of my USA vacation before heading back home to South Africa on Monday. I'll try take a look during some of my downtime at the airport or else I'll definitely see what's going on, on Tuesday.
And yeah, you're correct in saying that Page Builder works with any theme.
It's been a strong part of the Page Builder philosophy from the very beginning. We want to give people the freedom to change themes whenever they want, while keeping all their content intact.
Thanks….really curious this is a simple site using a stock WP theme :)
Update – it seems a NEW page created and saved as a draft with page builder used saves fine, it’s converting an existing page that it will not “keep” for sure. You can create a new page and see for yourself.
Hi Chris
Sorry it’s taken me a little while to take a look. I’ve logged in and tried creating a new page and then transferring it to Page Builder.
From what I can see, it might be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue (if any).
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem on our side or help you find an alternative plugin.
I can….funny thing is that site has the LEAST plugins of all my others so there is not many active…
This is definitely a strange one. I can see JS errors coming up and they seem to be outside the siteorigin-panels folder. Please let me know what you find, would really like to get this fixed if it's something on our side
:)
Might take me a few days…

O disabled EVERY plugin except yours and on an existing page converting to page builder then saving still does not keep the pagebuilder layout.
Creating a new page seems to still work fine….so does not appear to be a plugin conflict at all. You can see the list of plugins is pretty basic.
