Row backgrounds, Full Width and Padding not functioning.

So I’ve tried lots of solutions but nothing seems to be working. I am creating a website with the Bldr Theme: https://modernthemes.net/demo/?theme=BLDR which is meant to work with pagebuilder & siteorigin widgets.

However I did a clean install of wordpress, and installed the theme and it is not displaying correctly. I have no additional plugins installed but the issue still persists. As you can see from the photos I’ve linked below there’s is no padding between the rows (even when I try to manually add it), when I try to add a background to a row it doesn’t display it.

Also, I tried adding a parallax row with this tutorial https://siteorigin.com/thread/how-to-add-parallax-scrolling-to-a-page-builder-row. But as you can see it doesn’t span fully across the page, even though in the Row layout i selected “Full Width Stretched”.
