Hi,

In my website: http://youth.masuc.org/, I’m trying to remove the sidebar on either certain pages (if possible) or all pages. In the “Edit Page”, one of the options is “Full Width” template. I selected that, but my text is still not full width. The page I did that on is: http://youth.masuc.org/archives. As you can see, the page is still cut off, as if the sidebar is still there.

I would appreciate if someone could help me on that.

Thanks!

    Hi Aly

    Please try the following in a Custom CSS plugin or module like the one included with Jetpack:

    .page-template-page-full-php .post-container {
    width: 100%;
    }

    That will ensure your content uses the space available when selecting the full width template.

    Hi Andrew, Thanks for the reply.

    But when I paste the code into the Jetpack “Custom CSS” module, it doesn’t seem to fix it.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Please ensure the module is active and the CSS is added. I’ll then take another look. I don’t currently see it in your page.

    Hey Andrew,
    Thanks for discussing this question. I am using the premium version of the Pitch theme. I want to leave the side bar on some pages but not on others. Is there a way to customize it to that degree?

    I loaded Jebpack then copied and pasted the code. It does make my blog content expand the width of the page but the side bar simply slides down below that. But how can I get rid of the side bar on my blog page etc.?

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi mwmccowan

      Sure. By selecting the Default template in the page template drop down menu on any page you can opt to use the sidebar. The full width template will not use the sidebar.

      Since you have Jetpack installed why not try using the widget visibility plugin instead. Give that a try and let me know if that resolves your challenge. If not, let me know and we’ll give some Custom CSS a go.

    Andrew,
    I enabled the modifying of the widgets but I don’t see any drop down for visibility of the widget on any page etc. So after enabling Widget Visibility, where do I go to change the visibility on a particular page?

      Hi, I Work Here

      Head to Appearance > Widgets, when you edit each widget there will be a Visibility link on the left of the Save button.

    All my widgets say:

    Sorry,
    All my widgets say “Add” and an “Edit” in the sidebar settings , None of them have a drop down.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Have you gone to Jetpack > Settings and activated Widget Visibility?

  9. 10 years, 11 months ago mwmccowan

    Yes,
    I have “SlimJetpack” does this matter? I only have two plugins two Jetpack plugins running; “Custom CSS” and “Widget Visibility”. Am I missing something?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Lets swing this over to a new thread so Aly isn’t getting notifications. (Please open a new support thread, thanks).

    We’re at GMT+2. I’ll pickup your new support thread tomorrow and mail through with both the CSS and some more testing info on Jetpack Widget Visibility.

    Thanks for the wait.
