Prebuilt layouts change Id names

11 years ago · Last reply by Greg Priday 11 years ago

Hi,
When I duplicate a post using the page builder prebuilt layout the IDs change.
For example I have several CSS attributes on the ID pg-867-0 and creating a new page with the prebuilt option the ID change to pg-857-0 and I lose all the CSS. I have hundreds of post and a complex CSS stylesheet and I can’t add all the time new IDs on the CSS!
Is there any way to clone the post keeping the same IDs?

Thanks!

    Hi ludovic,

The ID of the layout is related to the post ID of the page. This was specifically to allow users to target one page.

In your case though, where you want to target several pages, I’d use custom row classes. In Page Builder, there’s a spanner icon for each row. Click on this to edit the row. Down the right you’ll see an Attributes section. In this section there’s a row class field. Enter a custom row class here – anything will do.

Then, for your custom CSS, target these row classes. They’ll carry across for prebuilt layouts.

Hi Greg thank you very much for your help I will do it on this way. I mixed both technique at the same time using IDs of the page and custom row classes so I will use only custom classes.
    Thanks a lot!

Awesome! Glad to hear the new row classes feature is coming in handy. Let me know if you need any more help with this.
