Post Carousel Widget code and customization

11 years ago · Last reply by Greg Priday 10 years ago

Hi all,
I was just wondering where I could find and edit code for the post carousel widget. More specifically I wanted to do a few things (keep in mind I’m very new to this):

1.) Center the title over the carousel
2.) Make it so the featured posts show excerpts (or a certain amount of text) from the post in the carousel
3.) Add images behind the text rather than have an image above the text title
4.) Remove the left and right arrow toggles (I only want 3 posts to show so there’s no reason to have a toggle)

I’m using the Virtue theme by Kadence if that helps, (not sure if there are better themes to use for what I want to do) I know its a lot but I appreciate the help, thanks!
Tony

    Hi Antonio

    Thanks for giving our widgets a try.

    1. Center the title {

    /* SO Carousel Widget */

    .sow-carousel-title {
    text-align: center;
    }

    4. Remove the buttons:

    .sow-carousel-title a.sow-carousel-next, .sow-carousel-title a.sow-carousel-previous {
    display: none;
    }

    Wish I could help with 2 and 3, they’re unfortunately a little beyond our current support scope.

    If you’d like to jump in at a code level, please see Braam’s reply to a similar query here:

    (Custom CSS I sent must go in theme options Custom CSS or a Custom CSS plugin or a child theme’s style.css file)

    Hi,

    is there any way to remove all effects from the pictures?

    No overlay, no border,no zoom, nothing but the picture.
