I signed up for the newsletter, received my eMail with the link to download the estate theme upgrade to plus. Upon trying to install many times different ways, I get an error message saying can’t install, style sheet is missing.

If you double check the original download email, there are installation instructions. The file you downloaded is a plugin, so it should be installed in the plugin interface. Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
