Menu bar doesn’t work on mobile devices

By Jennifer Lyon, 9 years ago. Last reply by Andrew Misplon, 9 years ago.

Hi,
I love Vantage and upgraded to Premium. I am finding my way around but like many others the menu bar won’t show pages on a mobile. The threads I read said you guys were going to work on it. My question is there an update for this? Thank you for your help.

(not sure where to find my premium version order number….)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jennifer

Very glad to hear you’re enjoying Vantage. From the looks of things, you’re using a plugin to load jQuery from Google CDN. The problem is, it’s loading a 4-year old version of jQuery (version 1.6) which isn’t compatible with Vantage. The current version of WordPress ships with jQuery version 1.11.

If you disable whichever plugin that’s loading this old version jQuery (allowing WordPress to load its bundled version), your mobile navigation should work again.

Thank you for your reply about my menu bar issues. Unfortunately it's too technical. I have no idea how to disable jQuery from Google CDN. Can you provide some instruction?

    Hi Greg,
I sent this email a couple of months back and only now ready to dig into this (!). Can you provide the steps to get my mobile menu working with Vantage Premium…again? Thank you!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Jennifer

Sorry we missed your reply two months ago.

Let’s try translate Greg’s feedback quickly:

    * One of your plugins is loading an old version of a code library that is already included in WordPress.
    * Vantage has certain bits that refer to sections that are only included in the new version of this code library.
    * Vantage isn’t wrong to expect the new version of this library to available.
    * The plugin, which ever one it is, is doing a bad thing by duplicating a code library already included with WordPress, especially since they are including an old version.

Let’s focus on finding the conflicting plugin. We can then make a decision from there. Perhaps it’s a plugin with better alternatives.

    1. Go to Plugins, select them all and de-activate.
    2. Test the initial problem.
    3. Is it resolved? If it is, re-activate your plugins one by one. After each activation, check the problem.
    4. When the problem re-occurs you’ll know which plugin is causing the issue.

Let us know how it goes.

All my pages are messed up after activating plug ins that I put in place before. A black menu page shoots across horizontal with my menu options but doesn't navigate smoothly to the right page.

    now what…?

    Everything appears to be a run-on sentence….

    Hi, I Work Here

Sorry to hear about the hassle. All seems resolved now. Did you find the cause of both problems?
