Menu and logo overlay in Ie

We’re using the Vantage theme for a new site. We are finding that in Internet Explorer 8 the menu and the logo lay over top of each other.

You can see the behavior now on the site: http://jumpstartbootcamp.mx

Is there a fix for this – I’ve been looking for fixes on the wordpress support threads but so far – I don’t see any.

Thank you!

    Hi Michael

You might be able to fix this by making sure the logo you upload is exactly 135px wide and 35px high. IE8 doesn’t handle scaling very well, and your logo is currently being scaled down.

Yes, once we got the image width set 135px (the height is scaled automatically) that fixed it. We also needed to make sure the image was sharpened for the png file.

Done now. I hate chasing things like this because IE8 has become mostly an edge case, but that takes care of it.

IE8 is a necessary evil for now. Hopefully by this time next year we’ll be able to forget that IE8 ever existed. The new versions of IE are a lot more solid, which is great!
