I’m using vantage with the slider. I know nothing about CSS but have installed the recommended plugin. I need to know the following:
1. I vaguely recall seeing somewhere that there are two layers for each slider image: the image itself plus the text (optional). Is that correct?
2. If so, do I just need to type the text somewhere, or make an actual image file in a program like photoshop? I hope not … :(
3. I have seen loads of sliders and I need to be able to customise how it appears over each image. This can usually be done by tweaking the CSS, but I don’t know how to do it. For example, I need to know:
a) How to align the text, left, right, centre.
b) How to change the font itself.
c) How to change the colour of the font, and
d) How to add a block background to the text (commonly seen on sliders) which is either an opaque colour or semi-transparent. I’m only really interested in semi-transparent.
Please help! It’s really important that the slider is just right and the text is clear and easy to read.
P.S. If there’s some way to make it fade in, or appear after a second rather than being there immediately, that would be awesome. I’ve seen all this stuff on other sliders, so you guys must know how to do it.
Thank you!
Abbey
Hi Abbey
Thanks for your detailed question.
At the moment, the SiteOrigin Slider widget is minimal in terms of the options it provides. Given your list of requirements we’d recommend using one of the following two plugins:
Master Slider:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/master-slider/
Meta Slider:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/ml-slider/
They’re fully developed slider plugins that offer the full spectrum of options you’re looking for. In their widget form they can be easily inserted a Page Builder powered page.
