But basically when I use the headline widget and try to apply a color, it gets overridden by black.
No, it’s not my theme (image is proof)
For some reason, it produces 2 CSS rules, and they are identical except one has the color black and that always overrides it
Hi Hdwebpros
Just to confirm, have you set the color values in the headline widget. There are independent color controls for both the headline and sub headline. These both default to black. It appears from that CSS as if these default values are still set.
Yes. I set the colors in the right spot. I confirmed that on the picture I shared too.
So… yes… the color values are set in the headline widget.
Yes… the colors are set in the right spot in the headline widget…
Here is the actual file that is generated.

The first h3 is correct. (Note color: #fff)
That second rule of h3 shouldn’t even be generated. Since it is lower on the CSS file, it overrides the custom #fff color.
Hi Hdwebpros
Sorry about the delay. Just to let you know we’ve fixed up this issue by changing a few things in the way we’re generating CSS. The fix will be in the next update that I’m hoping we’ll be able to release tomorrow.
Thanks for the update!
