What do you need the extra div for?

I would like to put a pattern/grid on top of the video content in the slider.

I could manage to put the image but that was not actually what I wanted to reach.
I have a small image of 8 pixels that I want to put on top of the video. It should be tiled, and cover the entire video.
I know the property background-repeat but as it is not a background what else can I do ?
