Can not update page with Page Builder

By masashie, 9 years ago. Last reply by Feichtl, 9 years ago.

Dear Sir/Madam

I am using Page Builder with these two set of different versions below.
1) WordPress 4.0.5 / Page Builder 2.0.3 / TinyMCE Widget 2.2.2
2) WordPress 4.2.2 / Page Builder 2.1.2 / TinyMCE Widget 2.2.4

When I use #1, there is no problem and working fine. However when I use #2, I can not update the page contents with Page Builder. After editing page contents by adding widgets and clicking update button, coming back to “Visual” mode and the page became empty.

Is there any problem in using those versions above #2?
I would really love to use Page Builder and am using it in old environment which is #1 above. Please help.

Best Regards,
Masashi

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Masashie

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

    Thanks

    Hi Magus

Thank you for your prompt reply. I just tried to deactivate all other plugins and try again, but it’s still the same situation.
Any other things that I can check?

    Best Regards,

    hi there

i faced the similar problem as Masashi and i am in the situation as the scenario #2 described in his post. i used to be able to edit the page item one by one and now it does not work at all. When i clicked the edit button of any item in the page, it shows the entire site in the edit window and i can’t edit anything at all?

if i disable the page builder, is there anyway i can still edit the content for the time being otherwise my site content will become static even if there is a need to edit some content?

    thank you.

    best regards,

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Masashie

This can also be caused by setting within PHP. Could you please check what your PHP_Memory_Limit is set to for me.

Could you also please check for any JavaScript Errors that appear when trying to edit the page

    Thanks

    Hi Mangus

I didn’t see any JavaScript errors when this happens. PHP memory setting was also no problem.

    The version is as follows.
    WordPress 4.2.2 / Page Builder 2.1.2 / TinyMCE Widget 2.2.4

    Thank you for your support!

    hi Magus

my environment is the same as Masashi, i.e. WP 4.2.2 and Page Builder 2.1.2. i turned off other plugins to ensure the problem is not due to compatibility with other plugins. in summary, it is still not working as per my initial experience with it.

i hope you could help us in resolving the problem as there is need for me to update the content.

    thank you so much.

    Hi,
I have the same problem but in my case the first site which I’ve been working on a couple of months ago and the website with the problem in which I installed the page builder today have the same versions:
    WordPress 4.2.2 / Page Builder 2.1.2 / TinyMCE Widget 2.2.4
The php info for the site in which it’s working can be seen here –

and the one for the problematic website can be seen here –

Is this a server side PHP setting issue?
I use AWS and wordpress AMI called Amimoto.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Masashie

That is definitely the problem. There are currently issues running PageBuilder on HHVM. Greg is in the process of setting up a test server to find where the issue arises. Knowing now that the issue wasn’t occurring in version 2.2.2 gives us a good place to start looking.

    hi Magus

do you mean there is a page builder version 2.2.2 ready without the problem we encountered? that is good news and if so when will it be ready for us to update please?

    thank you

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi David

My apologies, I meant in version 2.0.3. You should still be able to use this version with the other elements updated.

You can download this version from here

    hi Magus

thanks for your advice. i managed to download the version 2.0.3 but not able to replace the current version 2.1.2. somehow it does not allow me to delete the 2.1.2 instance and without that it is not possible to install the plugin for 2.0.3.

i am hoping to replace 2.1.2 with 2.0.3 so to avoid the current problem so our works can continue until the fixes for the problem we reported in 2.1.2 is developed.

your further advice is greatly appreciated please.

    thank you

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi David Ng

You will need to disable the 2.1.2 first and then delete it from the plugins interface. If you are unable to do this it may be that there are other issues affecting your wordpress installation. The only other way to remove it would then be to access your site using FTP and then remove the folder siteorigin-panels from the wp-content/plugins directory.

We are rapidly narrowing down the cause of this and will hopefully have a solution ready before the end of next week.

Let us know how you get on

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi guys

We’ve found the issue and implemented a fix. We’re aiming to have a release out next week. If you’d like to try it out sooner you can check out the develop branch on github and see if that works for you. https://github.com/siteorigin/siteorigin-panels

    Cheers

    hi Braam,

thank you for your update. i think if we want to try it out earlier than the official fix, i will need to update the PHP file in my site right? i am not too competent on that and i think i will wait for the fix and update to the plugin in my site.

will it be autoatically updated and what would be the new version so i can check.

    BR David

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi David

The next release version should be 2.2 and there should be an update notification in WordPress admin when it is available.

      Cheers

    Hi Magus and Braam,

i wanted to share that i am able to edit my home page now after i deleted the “common contact form” plugin even though it is not activated. not sure if this is the cause to my problem but hope it gives you some clue on potential conflict of the page builder plugin with this “common contact form” plugin.

    cheers.

    Hi!

Hat the same issue as stated above. After deactivating the plugin “facebook thumb fixer” everything worked again for me!

    Rgds,

    Werner.
