How can I convert my theme’s Custom Home Page to a regular page?

Most SiteOrigin themes have an item under the Appearance menu in WordPress called Home Page. This item requires our Page Builder plugin to be installed and is an easy way of managing your home page, using Page Builder. There are a few instances where you might want to turn Appearance > Home Page off but manage the same content via Page Builder on a regular page. You can make this conversion by following these steps.

Pages > Add New: Create a new page called Home. In our Vantage theme, select the Full Width, No Page Title page template in the right column drop down menu.
On your new home page click over to the Page Builder tab. On the left you’ll see a small paintbrush icon which represents Prebuilt Layouts, click this and choose to clone the current home page.
Now head to Appearance > Home Page and turn that off using the ON/OFF toggle switch at the top of the page.
Finally, head to Settings > Reading and select your new home page as your site’s static home page.

How can I do something similar which is using the Home Page Builder for pages different than home? I.e: use Page Builder for About page but not the Home Page?

BTW this builder is way more suited for about pages as industry standards for home pages are much different now and most of the widgets are obsolete at best. On the other hand they’re great for About or product pages. Even if you are a disruptor it’s still not really disrupting to use these widgets on a home page. :)

      Hi Dawid

If you have Page Builder installed you can go to any page or post, click on the Page Builder tab and begin editing that page using the plugin. You might find our overview video helpful: https://siteorigin.com/page-builder/documentation/.
