Accelerate Static Home Page White Space

Hello. I am using the Accelerate template for my pages. The main image stretches across the entire page perfectly UNTIL I choose to set one of the pages as a static Home page. Once I set the page as Home, a left column of white space is added to the home page and I am not able to remove. I have attempted to set CSS styles to set it back, but nothing is working. I have tried adjusting all margins in the widget and nothing is working. Please can I know what I should try next?
It should be noted, once I set the default Home page back to blog (the default), everything looks as expected. In addition, if I use the simple image widget, the stretch persists if I set the page as a static home page. I really like the Hero widget for the text, but perhaps this is the default behavior? Any insight would be much appreciated.
