Subitems disappear from menu

I’m not sure if this was always happening and I just wasn’t noticing it, or if this happened after the update to 1.4.4 I have 5 menu items each with varying numbers of sub items. I just noticed that if I go to certain pages within the site, the 2nd menu item’s list is missing…
