Unable to restrict access when Page Builder is enabled

I see a couple of prior threads on this topic. I cannot restrict page access using WP-Members and a couple of other plugins. Disabling Page Builder makes the problem go away. I saw a suggestion of using s2members, but that plugin is overkill. Is there any other access control plugin that works, or a work…
