Issues with Homepage

I am trying to modify my home page. Tried moving the menu order so that different page would serve as the Home Page. Trashed the Original but “Home” stays in the Menu. Says ” Nothing Found Ready to publish your first post? Get started here.” Seems to have changed to a “Post”. I have gone…
