Fade In the Last Sidebar Widget (Vantage Premium)

Hello. I have Vantage Premium installed. I have followed these instructions (http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-themes/how-to-fade-in-the-last-sidebar-widget-in-wordpress-using-jquery/) to have my last sidebar widget fade in. It doesn’t seem to be working. I installed the functions edit on premium/functions page. Is there something in Vantage that conflicts with this? Should I have installed the function edit somewhere else? Is there anything…
