Hello. I’m trying to help a friend with his website and I ran into a bit of a confusing situation. He is using the Aviator theme in WordPress 4.1.1. He needed help with layout of the Home page so I downloaded the Page Builder plugin. While I was browsing the Dashboard I noticed that there was no “Home” page listed under the pages tab, yet it was on the Navigation menu above the slider when the Home page was viewed (rather odd!)
I navigated to Appearance tab and Home Page under that and there was the page builder “Custom Home Page” displayed with a button prompting to “Install Page Builder”. I clicked that and the Page Builder opened up the Home page and we did our editing and Saved the page. When I clicked the “View Page” tab it displayed a “default” (I don’t know if that’s the proper term) post page with a “Hello World” post with the post sidebar. I also noticed that there are now two “Home” tabs displayed on the Navigation bar above the slider – odd!
Also, for this “Home” page the WordPress navigation bar displays “Edit Home Page” (next to the New tab) and clicking this takes you to the “Custom Home Page” page builder editor under the “Appearance” tab in the Dashboard. However, if I click “Edit as a Page” Page Builder opens the page up in the Pages tab of the Dashboard and clicking “View Page” opens up the correct Home page. Another oddity I noticed is that when I’m on this home page the WordPress navigation bar displays “Edit Page” instead of “Edit Home Page” !!
Well, please excuse the verbosity here – I was trying to describe this odd problem with as much detail as I could in hopes this will help – thank you!
