Hi Greg et al

I have installed the plugin SiteOrigin CSS and when I go to Custom CSS under Appearance, I have the css I have added.

“So here, you’ll notice we have a large preview of our site. On the left, we have the visual controls and along the bottom we have the inspector.”

When I choose either the visual or the expanded editor, I do get a the large preview window and the left column with either the controls or the css.

What I am not getting is the inspector. I am using a pre-beta theme, (tuxedo framework) however changing to twenty-twelve yielded the same results, as did switching to vantage. I thought it may be a clash with jetpack css which I have used, disabling that made no difference and I have left it turned off.

The video tell me how to turn off the inspector (not that I did) but it does not tell me ho to turn it on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I love the plugin and it has already demonstrated its value to me.

    Hi Magus

I have no such magnifying glass showing.

Plugins: BlackStudioTinyMCE, Captain Favicon, Contact Form 7, Custom Post Type UI, Growmap, Infinite WP, Jetpack, Max Mega Menu, Meta Slider, Next Gen Gallery. Next Gen Scroll Gallery, Page Builder, Revision Control, Daint du Jour widget, simple image sizes, SiteOrigin CSS, Sitye Origin Widget Bundle, Theme Check, Wordfence, WP Edit.

I thought it might be one of them, but now I don;t think so

    Hi Philip

Would it be possible for you to upload a screenshot of what you are seeing with the visual editor and link it here so we can see what you are seeing.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Philip

I am noticing two scrollbars on the right of the browser. Do the inspector panels appear when you scroll to the bottom using both of these?

If not then it may well be a plugin conflict issue. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

    Thanks

    Hi Magus,

The magnifying glass did not appear at the bottom.
I have turned everything off, and the inspector appears.
I have now identified the culprit – Next Gen Gallery by Photocrati.

Thankyou for the help. I had tried turning off plugins I thought may be unusual. I hadn’t tried NextGen as I thought it safe, even though I am not that fond of it. I gives me an excuse to go and find something that I do like, though for what I am using it for here I may use meta slider.
