Site origin slider overlays drop down menu on 2012 theme

Hi,
I’d like to add the site origin slider to my homepage which is using the 2012 theme. The drop downs are behind the slider – could anybody explain how to correct this if possible? I’d be very grateful. I’m a novice, so don’t assume I know how to do anything!
