By James Merchan, 10 years ago. Last reply by Greg Priday, 10 years ago.

Hi there,

I am doing a website for my wife and when I went to activate the NextGen Gallery plugin, the back-end just crashed and it comes up with this message below.

If anyone can please help that will be greatly appreciated.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /home10/mphairan/public_html/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-upgrader.php on line 1476

    Hi

Your site has exceeded the memory limit The default is quite low (only 40M) so try this.

    1. Open this file –>wp-config.php file
    2. Add this –> define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘128M’); before this line –> /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */
    3. Save the file..
    4. Try the plugin again and if it don’t work, try to increase the 128M memory to 256M (the more is better always :D )

    Or

    5. Contact you web host and request the memory limit increase.

I hope this solution will work. :)
