Free Plugins & Themes

All SiteOrigin free plugins (Page Builder, Widgets Bundle, SiteOrigin CSS, and Installer) and our free themes are released under the GNU General Public License v2.0 (GPL 2.0). This means you are free to:

• Use them on any number of websites, for any purpose
• Modify the source code to suit your needs
• Distribute copies of the original or modified code

The full GPL 2.0 license text is included with each plugin and theme. Our free plugins are available on WordPress.org.

Premium Addons

SiteOrigin Premium addons are licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL 3.0). Like our free plugins, the addon code itself is open-source and may be modified and redistributed under the GPL.

However, your SiteOrigin Premium subscription provides:

• Access to download premium addon updates from our servers
• A license key for automatic update notifications in WordPress
• Priority email support

These services (updates, license key, support) are not covered by the GPL and require an active subscription.

License Tiers

SiteOrigin Premium is available in three tiers:

All tiers include access to every premium addon. The only difference is the number of sites you can activate your license key on. See our Premium page for current pricing.

What Happens When Your License Expires

SiteOrigin Premium is a subscription, not a one-time purchase. Your subscription renews annually to continue receiving addon updates and support.

When your subscription expires or is cancelled:

• Your content stays exactly as it is. Pages, layouts, and widgets you've built are yours. They don't disappear
• Premium addons stop receiving updates. The versions currently installed will continue to function, but won't receive new features or security patches
• License key deactivates. You'll no longer receive automatic update notifications in WordPress
• Email support ends. You can still use the free community support forum
• Free plugins are unaffected. Page Builder, Widgets Bundle, CSS, and Installer continue working normally

You can resubscribe at any time to restore addon updates and support. There is no penalty for letting your subscription lapse.

Localhost & Staging Usage

Local development environments (localhost) and staging sites do not count toward your site activation limit. You can freely use your license key on development and staging servers without using up a site slot.

A site is only counted when it's activated on a live, publicly accessible domain.
