Lightbox Added to SiteOrigin Premium

We’re excited to announce a new addon for SiteOrigin Premium, the lightbox. A lightbox showcases images and galleries in an overlay that dims surrounding content and focusses your user’s attention. From SiteOrigin Premium version 1.0.4 onwards you’ll be able to add a lightbox to the following SiteOrigin Widgets:

  • SiteOrigin Image Widget
  • SiteOrigin Image Grid Widget
  • SiteOrigin Simple Masonry Widget
  • SiteOrigin Slider Widget

If you’re a SiteOrigin Premium user and would like to give the lightbox addon a try, follow these easy steps:

1. Go to DashboardUpdates, locate the SiteOrigin Premium update to 1.0.6 and run it.
2. Go to SiteOriginPremium Addons and enable the Lightbox addon (In the lightbox addon box, you can click the Settings button to view the available options.)
3. Go to any page or post using Page Builder and insert one of the following widgets, SiteOrigin Image, Image Grid Simple Masonry or Slider Widget.
4. Once your image or images have been inserted in one of the above widgets, scroll down to the settings section and enable the lightbox option.
5. If you’d like multiple widgets to appear in a lightbox gallery, enter an album name of your choice, for example you might use the album name gallery. Note that the Album Name setting will only be visible once you’ve enabled the Lightbox checkbox.

SiteOrigin Premium adds a wide range of additional functionality to Page Builder by SiteOrigin and the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. Watch the video and find out more.

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Ken,

Are you on a Windows server? I ask as we’re currently aware of an issue users are having when trying to update SiteOrigin Premium on a windows based server (specifically, something like WampServer) and are currently looking into this issue. Sadly, the only way around this at this time is to manually upgrade SiteOrigin premium. If you aren’t, can you please send an email to premium support so we can look into this issue further? The email is [email protected].

You can manually upgrade by logging into the SiteOrigin Order Dashboard and click siteorigin-premium.1.0.6.zip. Please open up your website and navigate to WP Admin > Plugins > Installed Plugins. Deactivate/delete SiteOrigin Premium (this will not result in data loss) and then click Add New > Upload Plugin and upload siteorigin-premium.1.0.6.zip.

    High Andrew
this is good news and a real enrichment of a rich set. I have a question though. I had the plugin Simple Lightbox working together with the Simple Masonry widget which do not work together any longer with version 1.99 of so-widgets-bundle.(Reverting so-widgets-bundle to an earlier version e.g. 1.92 reolves the problem: Simple Lightbox won’t start). Are you aware of this conflict and if so is this by design or can we have both plugins working well together a it was with previous releases?

Any answer is welcome as I appreciate the work your are doing for the community.

    Thank you Martin

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Martin

Sorry to hear about that. This definitely isn’t by design. Can you perhaps email us on [email protected] with this info and we’ll investigate further to see if there are any obvious errors.

      Thanks

    Sir,
I’m now premium user and interested in this light box feature.

But I don’t know what’s #5 5. If you’d like multiple widgets to appear in a lightbox gallery, enter a slug name of your choice, for example you might use the slug name gallery.
    Talking about.

Would you please make a video or more explanation on it? Thanks.

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Peter

Sorry about that, I’ll update the post, the field is now called Album Name. So say for example you had several SiteOrigin Image widgets on a page, if you gave them all the same Album Name when you clicked on one image, the lightbox would let you browse all images listed in the album. The Album Name field will only be visible once you’ve checked the option to enable Lightbox for the widget you’re using.

I have 3 websites all using S. O. templates. I’ve purchased the premium package for one of the sites; do I have to pay the premium charge for each website?

      Hi, I Work Here

      Hi Jim,

It depends on the license level you’re using. If you’ve purchased a single license, you’ll need to upgrade to a business license (which will allow you to use that license on up to five sites). If you’re on a business license or a developer license, you’ll be able to upgrade your all of your sites through the WordPress update system without needing to do anything further.

For reference, here are the steps to upgrade your license:

      1. Log into the dashboard: Page: Dashboard
      2. Click Order History.
      3. Click View Licenses.
      4. Click View Upgrades.
      5. Click Upgrade License next to the desired license type.

You’ll only need to pay the difference between your original license and your new license.
