Introducing TinyMCE Fields in the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle
We released Widgets Bundle 1.3 last week, and wow was it a big release. The feature we’re most proud of is that we’re giving developers a way to add TinyMCE fields to their widget forms. This field works anywhere you can imagine, including sections and repeaters and inside Page Builder, the Customizer and the standard WordPress widgets interface.
We’ve put together a short intro video to give you an idea of what’s possible.
Hey Grey,
Congrats for the awesome milestone! I’m excited too!
Will share any nice widget creation.
Touché – probably another group of plugins I can “consolidate” now that we have this.
Thanks!!!
Very nice,
Greg may I ask what program you use that has that purple logo that we can see at (1:04) in the video?
Hi Max
That’s CodeAnywhere. It’s not the IDE I use day to day, but because it’s browser based I can zoom it in nice and big, which is great for creating these videos. It has some awesome features and is a very good contender to a lot of desktop based IDEs.
Day to day, I use PHPStorm – the best piece of software I own.
Wow. You guys have been busy and I will be trying the widget soon. Like probably tomorrow.
Greg,
Wow.
You guys have been busy and I already have some ideas for it.
Thanks for your hard work making Page Builder what it is today, a serious tool to develop a useful website.
Thanks for all the awesome feedback everyone! I’ve been playing around with this over the last few days – excited to get some more widgets into the Widgets Bundle.
Great news! And great video’s you make, Greg! I watch them with a big smile on my face ;-)
Does this tinymce integration mean I can remove ‘Black Studio TinyMCE Widget’?
Thanks! You are far too kind Inge :)
The Widgets Bundle now includes a widget called SiteOrigin editor that does roughly the same thing, but it’s up to you which one you use. If you’d like to have fewer plugins installed, then you can go ahead and use the Widgets Bundle one – it works quite well.
Hi Greg, I missed this one being added. Greag. Thankyou. I also use wp-edit to add some extra buttons which the Sire origen editor responds to. I normally add the ‘find and replace’ button, the superscript button, and the table button.
You are an amazing company.
