Create a Business Website Using Baseline
Baseline is a well-crafted business site, that you can use as a starting point for your next website. Rather than starting your site from scratch, you’ll be able to focus on writing and adding content – using Baseline as a blueprint.
Of course, we’ve built everything using SiteOrigin themes and plugins and we’re giving you a free development hosting environment. Once you’re done building your site, transferring it to your own hosting is quick and easy using our importer plugin.
Baseline is completely free. If you already have your own hosting environment, you’ll be able to get online without spending a cent. If you don’t have hosting, we’ll show you how to sign up for great low-cost hosting.
Starting your site using Baseline is going to save you a lot of time. We’ve done most of the work for you. If you have your content ready, and you have some basic familiarity with Page Builder, you could have a new website online in just a couple hours.
Even if you’re hiring someone to build a website for you, having them use Baseline will drastically cut down the amount of time they’ll bill you. It’ll also give them a much clearer idea of what you want from your website.
In the future, we’ll be adding more site packs to our collection. Choice is a beautiful thing.
If you have any questions, be sure to post over on YouTube.
How much does it cost? I was purchasing the site developer Origin plan.
Is the Baseline separate costs? Please get to the nitty gritty of your pricing rather than a round about manner.
Hi Michael
First of all, thanks for purchasing SiteOrigin Premium! We really appreciate the support. Baseline is just the name of prebuilt website that uses all SiteOrigin themes and plugins. It’s completely free to use.
I would like to know how long will it last for the site to exist?
Premium is definitely worth it, though. I don’t regret paying extra for the additional features. I’d recommend it, @Michael.
Hi, I have tried to create a baseline but have not received the email. Not sure what’s going on.
Hi Stephen
Can you take a quick look in your spam folder to see if it landed up in there?
I also attempted to try it out this morning and haven’t received any email. And no, nothing in spam folder.
No Email recieved. Checked Spam and junk box
Thanks, I’ll look into this quickly.
Seems like there was a problem with the email settings on our server. I’ve switched over to Mandril and all emails seem to be getting delivered now. Thanks everyone for letting me know about this!
If you were having issues earlier, you should be able to just signup again. You’ll just need to do a quick password reset.
I would confirm that I have now received an email…
Now to play :-)
Very glad to hear it, Rick! I’m sure our Mandrill email server won’t let us down :)
Wow I wish this was available 2 years ago when I started out – your plugins and templates are already excellent but this…..this is a whole new level of awesomeness and you chaps should be very proud!
This is truly a fantastic toolset and such a smooth idea in helping new novice developers get up and running quickly, whilst building familiarity with your existing toolset.
Win/Win for everyone – Brilliant!
John
Thanks so much for the very positive feedback John. Yeah, it’s our hope that these site packs will make building a new website using WordPress a little less daunting for new users. Having a full website as a starting point means you can just learn what you need as you need it. Most people just want the end result – a finished website. They don’t want to sit through a 10+ hour video course to master ever aspect of WordPress.
I use your page maker and so looked for this in wp plugins and themes, but no.
Can baseline or highline be loaded from wp backend?
thanks
jim
Hi Jim
At some point, we’ll make it possible to import site packs into your site using our SiteOrigin Installer plugin. Unfortunately, this isn’t possible yet, though.
Another issue.
When requestring an password reset it says please reset password following this link, but then there is no link
Thanks
Aaah, thanks. I’ll test that out. I think that link should be coming from WordPress itself, so not sure why it wouldn’t be working.
All fixed. There was a setting I needed to enable in the Mandrill plugin. Part of me thinks that setting should really be enabled by default, though ;)
Great going Greg. Please let me know when we can load it up on an existing site. I’d love to see how the whole package fits blends with one. Thanks again for the great work.
HG/mws
Hi HG
We’ll see what we can do in that regard. When we incorporate site packs into the SiteOrigin Installer, maybe we’ll give the option to only import the overall design, content or both.
Sorry, I really don’t understand what’s on offer here. Why are you doing this?
Hi Rex
Basically, Baseline is a prebuilt website with all the pages and settings that a basic business website would need. You just replace all the original content with your own, export it to your own hosting and just like that you have a finished website.
We’re doing this to save people time and money :) From a business perspective – these site packs (Baseline is just the first of many) will introduce people to SiteOrigin themes and plugins. More people using our tools is never a bad thing.
No email received.
Hi Lee
According to our records, this email was sent. I’ve just sent it again to be sure. Be sure to double check your spam folder.
Hi there!
After I have created it, how can I remove/delete it?
Hi there,
I got problem to import the baseline data into my site, the import process seemed to stuck at 12/44(1) of the process status, and after that I get back to my site backend, I am still getting “The importer is ready to run. Start Now”, please guide me to the solution, thanks.

How can you help me I want to upload Baseline.. or Highline..
PLease help me..
Hi Everyone! We’ve fixed the issue we were having with Site Packs. If you download a fresh copy of any Site Pack you were using, it should work again.
If I use Baseline to build a site here, then in order to use it I have to export it to my reseller hosting. It doesn’t work (isn’t hosted) here, correct? It is not online . . .
That’s correct. You can build your site on our servers, but you need to transfer it to your own hosting if you want it to have a permanent home.
How can I delete an instance of Baseline?
Hi razorpig. This is fairly easy. In your site admin, navigate to Tools > Delete Site.
I also attempted to try it out this morning and have not received any email. And no, nothing in spam folder.

Hi am having a little problem here. How can i add the site-origin importer plugin since i do not get add new plugin functionality on mine page. Also i will like to no if i can export the themes that i have edited too.
Many thanks for your reply.
What are the dimensions of the ‘Baseline’ logo used in the template?
Hello.
I downloaded and run the plugin from Pack: Baseline – Free Prebuilt Business WordPress Website to import the pre-built website on my clean localhost WordPress instance.
Unfortunately, I noticed 90 pending spam comments after the import. Could you please take a look where these comments come from in new pre-built sites?
Thank you!
That seems to be a bug with the export script. It definitely shouldn’t be including spam comments. I’ll be sure to fix that up. For now, I’ll just remove all the spam comments on Baseline.
Once I get the site on line, can I add pictures in the already existing site? it seems that I can make changes in text but I can not make changes in the photos or some buttons that I want to add. Can you please en-light me how do that? Thank you in advance.
Hi Greg, just bought a Premium 5 website pack I would like to use the theme Unwind. I can’t find a tutorial video on this theme can you help me and point me in the right direction Thanks.
I already have a SiteOrigin website. I want to know how do I change details on that site?
I think Baseline is one of the best one to create Business Website. I used it. Thank you for the videos.
Baseline is awesome. Love it. Thanks for sharing .
Hello friends! The idea seems very interesting to me. However, it would be convenient to install all language packs on the test site. Since it only appears in English and there are no languages available to all people we can use this great tool from other countries.
Congratulations on all the development and thanks for taking my suggestion into account.
A hug

Hi! Thanks a lot! Really enjoyed reading this page.
Dimensions of the logo should be mentioned.
And also note that site slogan should not be in the logo.
Hi, I am a novice to this but I have been a graphic designer for many years. I have purchased the Cinnamon Child theme and have managed to set this up on WP through a friend who is a developer and he has added Page Builder by SiteOrigin but I cannot see where I can change hte text title of the business to a logo instead.
The branding section which is explained in your Baseline video, just isn’t there?
I would appreciate some help please?
Thanks
Simon
